ARC Review: Head Over Heels by Karla Sorensen

How have I never read a Karla Sorensen book before this?? The woman is a PHENOMENAL writer. The way she pieced together every sentence made a huge impact on even the smallest events, which is perfect since a main theme in Head Over Heels is how impactful small events truly are.

Before I ramble further, why is this book so wonderful? Let me count the ways…

Ivy is unapologetically rigid and tough and difficult. A large part of the book focuses on how those attributes affect her as a woman versus how they affect men. It never comes off as whiny or man-hating – it’s simply a fact that’s stated and shown through Ivy’s actions and those of a male character who acts in a similar way.

Cameron is a rock both emotionally and physically. He never tries to dampen Ivy’s flames and even ponders how her sharp edges allow his to be displayed without judgment. He’s the classic white knight with a dark side, and he needed a tough woman like Ivy to keep him in check.

The family dynamics were also top notch. I wanted to punch Ivy’s dad on several occasions, but I hope they find a way to repair their relationship. And Cameron’s family…ugh, what can I say without spoiling it?? You will love them all and will find yourself with tears flowing on more than one occasion.

The banter, the love, the patience of a man not afraid of difficult woman all make Head Over Heels a 5 star read. Be prepared to highlight half of the book when you read it!!

Thank you, Karla Sorensen and Wildfire Marketing, for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
