5 things to know about Healthy Obsession

Healthy Obsession, a new 3-week program, launches next week and the biggest question I’ve seen about it is: is there such a thing as a healthy obsession? Considering how often we throw around the word “obsessed,” I’m going to say yes only because the word has become so watered down.

I wanted to tackle this question before diving into the details because I think it’s an important one. You CAN become obsessed with health and fitness. You can let it rule your life until it becomes a very UNhealthy habit. But if you’re using the term “obsessed” in the same way you say you’re obsessed with a TV show or a song, then you’re not really running a risk of your life overturning due to the habit.

Now onto the program itself…

What is Healthy Obsession?

Healthy Obsession is the baby sister of 80 Day Obsession, the 80 day program launched in 2018 that garners people serious booty gains and helps you tap into hidden strength. This shortened version of the program is four weeks long with three weeks of hard work and one week of functional recovery.

What do you need for Healthy Obsession?

You DO need a bit of equipment for this one:

You’ll also need a subscription to BODi which is where the cycling classes, live bootcamps, meditation programs, personal development resources, and new nutrition resources are housed.

Should I do Healthy Obsession?

If you have the time to dedicate to 60-minute workouts for 3 weeks, absolutely. The programs like this are always fun, challenging, and worth the time. If the thought of working out for an hour, even for 3 weeks, makes you contemplate screaming into the void (or you’re pregnant which…feels the same sometimes) then no. I would say skip it and talk to me about an alternative program.

Do I need a special diet for this?

Yes. I would NOT go into a program with hour-long workouts without being prepared. That means ensuring you’re eating ENOUGH to fuel your muscles so you don’t feel like a train hit you for the rest of the day. Planning your meals every week will be a huge benefit so that you don’t end up under-eating or grabbing whatever is on hand rather than what can help you fuel your muscles. It also means adding in some electrolytes while you workout. I like to alternate between Ultima and our Hydrate. Ultima has no added sugar which is important for some people. I use it for the taste. Hydrate, however, has quercetin which is VERY important for immune support and muscle recovery.
